At the time the Bugatti Owners’ Club was founded in 1929 Bugatti cars represented the ultimate in motoring craft and technology: they were promoted as “Pur Sang”, the thoroughbred of motor cars.
 
Ettore Bugatti had a unique engineering talent. Not only was he the creator of highly successful racing cars and able to boast of numerous racing successes with the iconic Type 35, but also he created several refined touring models and had many hundreds of engineering inventions attributed to him. It may seem remarkable that a manufacturer that produced just 8000 cars over a 40 year period should have the status it has today.
