Welcome to the Friends of Prescott Information Page
Since its’ formation in 1929, the Bugatti Owners Club has upheld the tradition of providing great motorsport on its’ 60 acre Prescott estate in a beautiful Cotswold setting. With this comes the responsibility of ensuring the continuation of this fine tradition, to give enjoyment to the Clubs existing supporters and to future generations of motor sport enthusiasts.
Friends of Prescott has been established to enable motoring enthusiasts to assist in the conservation of Prescott Hill Climb as an historic and internationally renowned motor sport venue through raising funds for much needed development projects.
Formed by the Bugatti Owners’ Club to help fund sympathetic improvements to the facilities, estate and hill climb, Friends of Prescott has already made its’ mark!
Through many fundraising events from many donors and helpers a £120,000 contribution was made, which along with a significant contributions from the VSCC allowed us to complete Phase 1 of the new Clubhouse, which was opened in March 2013.
Over the winter of 2015/16 the next project, although perhaps less glamorous was the refurbishment of the Paddock Loo’s! For those of us who having been visiting Prescott for a long time this has been a while coming and is in fact well overdue.
Clubhouse Entrance Appeal
The tented entrance to the Clubhouse was built as a temporary structure and the Clubhouse Entrance Appeal is well underway to raise the funds to renew and extend the entrance area and will complete the external façade of the Clubhouse. This forms Phase 2 of the long term plan to complete the social hub that the Clubhouse represents. The existing tented area will be demolished to make way for the construction of a metal framed extension with double doors, all fully clad in glass. The entrance hall is planned to be double height, mirroring the shape of the main terrace extension.
This will provide a much larger reception area with improved facilities for all who visit Prescott. Planning permission has been granted and the design will be complementary to the estate and existing building. With your help we aim to fully fund this project and have a target in excess of £100,000 – only when the project is fully costed and funded will work proceed.
‘Friends’ were also given a new permanent home, funded by the Bugatti Owners’ Club, with our own Paddock shop which was opened ready for the first meeting in 2015. This facility is also the base for recruiting new Club members so please come and say hello when in the Paddock.
We would love to be able to open the shop to our visitors on Breakfast Club mornings and corporate event days in addition to competition days but urgently need more volunteers! Please email Friends@bugatti.co.uk if you would like to help.
As part of our fundraising we often have a small range of interesting items for sale on EBay. Well worth a check to see if we have that one-off must-have! Click Here to view items currently for sale
We are always in need of interesting items for the Paddock shop, eBay shop and our annual auction. So please have a look through your bookshelves, workshop or garage and give any unwanted books and automobilia to Friends. Bring items along to the Friends shop or Club Office when you can, it will be very welcome.
We would very much appreciate that any items donated are in some way concerned with veteran, vintage, classic vehicles or related to motoring or motor sport as these are the items that sell well.
Friends of Prescott is manned solely by volunteers so you can be sure 100% of your donation will go directly to the projects authorised by the Council of the Bugatti Owners Club.
How you can become a Friend of Prescott
We accept donations of automobilia or promises for auction or resale, as well as cash donations. Any item no matter how small, will help to make a difference.
(Donations are under development & not currently available)
It is most definitely not a requirement that you have a Bugatti, or even a vintage car! We are always looking for people to volunteer and get involved in helping with our fundraising activities - from selling raffle tickets for an hour to joining a maintenance and repairs working party for the day. Just email Friends@bugatti.co.uk for more information.
