The Vintage Sports Car Club

4th and 5th August 2018

The Jewel in the Crown of the Vintage motorsport year.

The Vintage Sports-Car Club’s celebrated Prescott Speed Hill Climb is the undoubted jewel in the crown of the Vintage motorsport year, having first taken place in 1938.

Every year on the first full weekend in August, over 250 of the finest Pre-war Racing and Sports-Cars descend upon the famous Hill Climb venue near Winchcombe in Gloucestershire – home of the Bugatti Owners’ Club – having travelled from all over the world to compete, with representatives from the evocative marques of the period, including Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Aston Martin, Frazer Nash, ERA and more.

From noble Pre-1918 Edwardians to famed 1930s Grand Prix Racers, a golden era of motoring history take on the challenge of the traditional 880 yard course against the clock, from the most original machinery through to fire-breathing, tyre-smoking aeroplane-engine Specials, with Practice taking place on Saturday and the main Competition on Sunday.

As well as the thrilling action on track there are always plenty of other attractions for the whole family to enjoy. Spectators are free to explore the Competitor Paddock, where they can get up close to the competing machinery and drivers, whilst the annual gathering of Spectator Pre-war Cars, each year featuring a special Anniversary display, is world-renowned and always worth the entry price alone. Renowned International Auction House and Club Sponsors, Bonhams, also provide an impressive display of exquisite cars from their upcoming sales.

Our fine Trade Village and ‘Autojumble’ will surely offer something to suit all interests, whilst the traditional Children’s Entertainment Area, including Bouncy Castle and Sweet & Games Stall, ensures there will be plenty to keep our younger enthusiasts occupied. With on-site camping available, traditional Jazz Band parade, Bicycle Races and plenty of catering facilities available on site throughout the weekend, the event is the ideal family day out!
