Prescott Bike Fest Statement

  BACK

PRESCOTT BIKE FESTIVAL PRESS RELEASE.

It was perhaps inevitable, but due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus and the uncertainty over when things will be back to normal, the Prescott Bike Festival team have made the decision to postpone the Festival to June 26th / 27th 2021. The organisers will be in touch with everyone who has bought tickets for this year’s event.

Gordon Downie, Festival Organiser said, “Not an easy decision, but we hope you’ll agree that in the best interests of our volunteers, suppliers, exhibitors, entertainers, the many others who help out and for our visitor’s health and well-being, it’s best to wait until better times. It is a stressful time for us all but it will end and we look forward to welcoming you back to Prescott in 2021.

The Festival is organised and run by the volunteers of the regional Blood Bike group, Severn Freewheelers. Paul Fairbank, Chairman of Severn Freewheelers added, “The Festival is the bedrock of our annual fund raising activities. We’re hugely disappointed to postpone to 2021 and we look forward to having a bumper Festival next year.”

During this pandemic, Severn Freewheelers and their sister Blood Bike groups across the country have really stepped up their game. Working closely with their NHS hospital trusts, they’ve moved to a 24/7 service, provide new support for the NHS Pharmacy with patient deliveries, transport vital Coronavirus test samples and work with NHS Trusts to ensure vital chemotherapy medication gets to cancer patients. These are just a few of the initiatives that the Blood Bike volunteers are doing right now to take some of the stress away from the NHS and other Emergency Services. Putting their own lives at risk to possibly save yours. Selfless community volunteering at its best I am sure you will agree.

It is with that in mind that the organisers have a very special theme for 2021. A chance to show your support and appreciation for the Blood Bikers, the NHS staff and Key Workers by joining them at the Festival. There will be representatives from all sectors coming along so you get the chance to say Thank You.

The Prescott Bike Festival website remains open and you can help now by purchasing your ticket for next year. Every ticket sale is a much needed boost to their much reduced fund raising income. If motorcycle festivals aren’t your thing or you just want to show your support, you can make a donation to the charity on their Book Tickets page.

Everyone at Severn Freewheelers and the Blood Bike community wish you keep yourself, your families and friends safe and well.
